Wednesday

I'm back, and I'm here to tell you more of the same.

Dylan got called to work last minute, so it was a G and me sort of day. We took a long walk with our dogs, hit the gym later in the afternoon, then caught up with Jess L. Our sons see each other at Dawn's house all the time, but it had been much too long since we'd gotten together. I missed you, J, and I'm excited to see you back on the blogosphere!

And if that sounds a bit unexciting, then watch out because I'm about to be even more boring. But I'll start off with saying that Tuesday was a great day! Dylan had been out of town for the last 10 days with only a night or two in-between. We hadn't spent any days off together in about two weeks. So this is what we did: I finally got caught up on some things around the house I had been meaning to do for a while and so did D, then we went to the post office, grocery store, and car wash. Then I did the unthinkable and cooked dinner, including dessert. D also put his new industrial-grade juicer to work for the first time, and we enjoyed a health juice. After months of eating oatmeal or yogurt or cottage cheese or eggs or frozen pizza or peanut butter toast for dinner, I finally felt well-fed. We topped it off with some Olympics viewing before I called it a night. It was such a wonderful time...until I was woken up at 10 to be informed that D would be gone from the early morning to the late night today and that my Lu Day was effectively ruined. Selfish of me to put it that way...it's not like I was the one who had to go to work. But whatever, we were all bummed. Ugh.

Lunch at Euro Pizza Cafe

Double Decker! Wherever Gavin is, Ramona is not far away. She's even started laying next to his crib for a while after he goes down to sleep at night. Also, why does Gavin's face look so...not normal in this photo?

Boy loves to stand.

First sippy cup.

We have some work to do.

Race car driving in the bathroom while I get ready.

I fear we may have a thumb-sucker.

Hanging out on the patio and eating some keys.

Now I have two days of early alarms to look forward to but happy to have some help at night (hopefully)! Dylan commented on how out-of-it I am once I get home from work, and I have a feeling he got that impression after I put on my pajamas to eat Valentine's Day dinner and needed toothpicks to keep my eyes open through dessert. But did I mention I am thankful to have a job to go to a few days a week? There was a moment today when I had been at home for a while with G and I thought to myself...wow I completely understand how staying home with a baby keeps you incredibly busy yet so freaking bored out of your skull all at the same time. Also, the paycheck is a perk. Looking forward to the change of pace for a couple of days. Less excited about the exhaustion that ensues.
