Dylan and I got new mountain bikes a few weeks ago, and Dylan, being a man of leisure, took the opportunity to explore the trails on the preserve out where we live one afternoon while he was G-and-me-free. He had a great time, until something started stinging him in his inner thigh/crotch area. He hopped off his bike and was looking in his shorts for the offending agent, but to no avail. He told me the story when I got home later in the afternoon, and we both had a good laugh, and that was that.
Well, yesterday, Cody, Tess, and Mikaila watched G for a couple of hours, and Dylan and I took off on our bikes. Before I proceed, I must tell you that it was one of the most fun times I've had doing a recreational activity (or anything for that matter) in a long, long time, and I'm hoping to fit in a few more rides before the awful summer is upon us. Anyhow, we were on the tail end of our ride, making our way down the powerline road and back to the car, when I felt a ZAP in my bathing suit area. Ahhh! But nothing was in my shorts. (Nothing that shouldn't be there.) When I looked overhead and saw the massive powerlines and heard their buzzing, I developed a theory that the static from our shorts rubbing on the seat (or something) was transmitting electricity through us and causing the zapping. When I caught up with Dylan, he confirmed that this was the precise location in which the mysterious bug had stung him in the crotch last time, and when I talked to my friend Ben, an avid bicyclist, he confirmed that indeed my theory was correct. There's nothing quite like an electric shock to your nether regions to make you feel alive.

We bid farewell to the Miller siblings this morning but had a great time while they visited. We made a lap around the lake in Fountain Hills yesterday and finished off the evening with tacos for dinner. I'm so glad Gavin got some snuggles from his aunties and uncle over the last few days and that the weather was top notch for their visit. (Except for that short bout of rain yesterday, which I personally think is AWESOME weather.)
