Kind of like a repeat of last week...Tuesday was my day again. Gavin and I headed out early to meet my mom in town, and then he spent the first part of the day with her. I headed for the gym to do a barre class and have a massage then followed that up with a haircut and my favorite lunch, Paradise Bakery. I had a gift card for the massage and a Groupon for the haircut. Leisure on a budget...I'll never say no to that. Gavin was a stinker and wouldn't sleep or eat (a first!) for my mom, so our afternoon plans were foiled. But I don't always put much stock in things going according to plan. Anyway, I picked him up, he fell right asleep in the car, and while he finished his nap in his crib, I aired up tires and hitched the buggy to my bike. We had a decent afternoon around here, and since the jogging stroller is still limping with a flat rear tire, we went on an early evening bike ride in lieu of a walk. Only the dogs were disappointed with this plan. I don't know about anyone else, but I think Tuesday Lu's Day (but not Lose Day) should become a regular weekly ritual, yes?
Happy to be hanging with his dad on Sunday
Totally ready to feed himself

Hey, that's my chair
Oh, and speaking of the dogs, Ramona threw her back out again. Has anyone heard of this happening to a dog before? (It might have something to do with jumping in and out of a high chair.) Or, kind of like the rat in the car, is this just another one of my weird problems? It was, however, much less of an ordeal this time than when it happened a couple of summers ago. You see, when she's in so much pain that she can't move and can't be picked up, it creates a bit of a problem where going potty is concerned. Plus, it's just really sad. Well, when it happened yesterday morning, I offered her a steroid with a side of tramadol, gently dragged her on a dog bed to the kennel, left for the day, and hoped for the best. It worked out in my favor. She was basically normal by the time we got home in the afternoon. Who has the time to deal with canine chiropractic issues? I think Ramona knows that I certainly do not.
So if every day seems to have a theme around here, we will make today Wednesday Cycle Day, then. I always go to spin class as a sort of punishment to myself if I've been eating too many cookies and not doing enough real exercise. For as much as I love riding my bike, I find spin to be just boring, and the time passes slower than molasses. But it works up a good sweat, and it's something different than my usual rotation of machines. The best part was that Gavin didn't get us kicked out of the gym, for once. Afterward, we headed to the swings at the park and then a quick run through TJs, and then we were home for the day. Doing chores, making food, cleaning up, taking pictures, playing in the grass and the playroom, washing the dogs...and an afternoon bike ride is on the agenda, assuming the the tires have remained adequately pressurized. (See? Cycle Day.) We haven't been very social, but since I still haven't showered since working up a major sweat this morning, it's probably better that way. We are excited to get Dylan home late tonight. Thank goodness for the little intermission that brought him home for Sunday afternoon. A week is too long for him to be gone!
