Sleeping Arrangements

It's getting very interesting around here. Somehow Dylan and I have managed to sleep relatively okay for the last four nights in the guest room bed, which is only a fraction of the size of our regular bed. Last night, however, Dylan had set a 3:30 am alarm, from which I knew I'd never recover because my brain has a terrible habit of going into overdrive as soon as any alarm sounds...so he ended up on the couch. (In all fairness, he had a sinus infection that resulted in ridiculous snoring, and so I ended up on the couch more than once in the recent past.) So I went to sleep alone in the guest room. And then our friend Roy's flight was cancelled, and he ended up at our house. Dylan managed to clear a path in the only available room, which is currently still storing 90% of the stuff from our office, and Roy slumbered on a futon. I had an email when I woke up alerting me to his presence so I wouldn't lunge at him with the nearest weapon when he appeared in the kitchen in the morning.

The above story has little to do with anything, so...moving on. I can't remember much about the last time I had days off, except for one thing major...my new mountain bike finally arrived!! It's such a beauty and rides like a dream. Gavin hung out with his grandparents for a few hours on Wednesday so that Dylan and I could go for a ride and then hit up Spinato's for lunch. Mountain biking is the most fun ever in the whole world. Why did it take us so long to figure that out? Anyway, it's looking like it might be a long time before I'll be relieved of my responsibilities and can take it out for another ride. Sigh.

Working it on his exercise ball

My Juliana. Full suspension and carbon frame...a better vehicle than at least one of our cars.

Getting ready to hit the trail on Cruz's bike. Pants optional.

And then today was one of those days where your baby poops twice (one of them a full poo explosion) before the sun even rises, making you late for work. You just know it's not going to be a good day with a start like that. And it sure wasn't. Nothing was terrible or worth writing about, but the cards were not in my favor when it came to just about everything today. Anyway, we made it home safely and pretty soon it'll be time to crawl into bed, and tomorrow will be a new day! I couldn't be more happy that it's the weekend!
