I want to get caught up real quick before we flee town. Not that there's much to say. We finally got D home yesterday after a day's delay, and other than that we've been going about our usual activities. Gavin has turned into quite the little fish and spent a bunch of time in his Nonna and Papa's pool last weekend while I, myself visited a pool party with all my work pals and gorged myself with unhealthy and delicious food. It was a much needed break from the grind and so much fun as usual. The next day, we returned to my parents' house to celebrate Father's Day with breakfast and another dip in the pool. Gavin forgot about all the fun he had while swimming the day before and spent most of the time hiding behind me. He loves his grandparents, but he's an extreme Mama's Boy and won't let me leave his sight while we're there because he thinks I'm going to bail on him. (He's smart...I usually do.) Do kids naturally grow out of this? I hope so.
This week has been a lot of tying up loose ends and preparing to go. We spent the morning at home yesterday packing, and Gavin, being neglected while I was busy, got into EVERYTHING. By the afternoon we had both gone crazy, so I threw in the towel and took him to splash around at Kierland while we waited for Dylan to land across the street. Luckily a delicious cold brew tea could be found just next to the fountain, so I stayed relatively comfortable while he ran through the water and worked out a few wiggles. Afterward, we met up with my parents, Hudson, and Cruz for dinner at Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers and then picked up my dad's truck...which we bought and is now Dylan's truck. Anyone in the market for an old, white Volvo with brand new tires and a timing belt?
Do I have something on on my face?
Really a major hindrance to the packing process.
Somebody got a lot more screen time than usual yesterday and insisted on changing the station to the Spanish channel, over and over again.
Shouting "Beata Bata" while running through the fountain.
He's turning into a major snuggler. I love it.
Show me your teeth!
"Daddy's airplane" on repeat warrants a trip to see Daddy's airplane.
Sweet cousins having a moment.
Well that brings us today, and I don't think we could pack more into this day if we tried, so I'd better get off this couch!
