It's been a delicious couple of days. Yesterday, Gavin and I headed up the Siletz River to Gibson Farms to pick some blueberries before their season ends this week. At first it was kind of fun. Gavin picked a few berries and enjoyed putting them in the bucket, and sometimes he put sticks and gross things in the bucket, too. Then I went back to my car to get the camera, and he started to give me attitude. Until he realized that the berries were edible and very tasty. The berry sampling continued for at least a half hour. It was crazy, but I just let him go for it. I took a ridiculous amount of photos and videos, but I'll only bore you with a few (or 10).

Carried the bucket all morning and surprisingly never dropped it. |

Afternoon walk to a beach at Salishan. |
Today our big field trip was to Tillamook to check out the cheese factory. The drive up the coast was beautiful (as was the one yesterday), so we didn't mind the hour-long trip at all. But after sitting in the car and then being put in a stroller, Gavin got a little antsy. To gain control I had to resort to a few minutes of video viewing on the iPhone of his favorite video of the moment...the one of Dylan and Shawn jumping off cliffs at Fossil Creek. Gavin calls it "Jump the Waterfall."

How about those bedazzled jeans in the background? |

But...he loved the cheese samples, ice cream and grilled cheese because who wouldn't?! He also had fun driving the Tillamook bus for just a minute while I snapped some photos. The actual self-guided tour of the cheese factory was a little underwhelming. I thought we'd get to see big machines at work and that Gavin would love it, and while the machines were big, they didn't captivate our attention too much. We came home with a few souvenirs, one of them being chocolate peanut butter fudge. The place was a total zoo, and I was definitely in the minority being on my own with a toddler in a stroller, but all in all it was a worthwhile trip!
