Baby Graham

Today we had a 20 week ultrasound, which made things very real. I mean, my belly already looks like I've swallowed a watermelon, and I finally faced reality and brought out the maternity clothes last night...so I should have known that this was happening. But I just hadn't really thought about the fact that I was pregnant besides switching to decaf, turning down a drink here and there, and having a ravenous appetite. When I was pregnant with Gavin, I thought about it very often and worried all the time about all the terrible things that could happen. Not the case this time, which I hear is pretty normal the second time. It's a nice change, but I should probably start to think about preparing things in the next few months.

Anyhow, I'll be honest that I don't get a big thrill when I see random ultrasound pictures. They're kind of obscure and alien-looking. But when you see your own little human in your body, it's something pretty cool, and since they emailed me all the images, well I feel compelled to share.

This is the first time I've had a 3D (4D?) ultrasound. It's kind of crazy.

We have a feeling he'll have flat feet, short legs and a long torso. Seems to be a theme in our family.

All folded up in there.

We feel very blessed that all looks healthy and well. Even though the blood test is 99% accurate, it was nice to confirm that indeed he is a little boy with a visual image. Graham (at least we think that'll be his name unless we magically come up with something we like better) was not good about holding still to get good pictures. I have a feeling we'll have our hands full with him, much like his older brother.
