Sprinkled with Love

On Sunday morning, Kristin and Anne threw the nicest baby "sprinkle" for me and the baby boy. Seven of us had breakfast at The Breakfast Joynt, complete with cupcakes for dessert. The table was decorated so cute with succulents and gourds, and they sent me home with the plants in the cute pots that Anne had painted herself. I also received a gift basket full of a ton of awesome goodies...a pack of diapers, a bunch of the cutest baby clothes, diaper cream, wash cloths...and even stuff for me...comfy pants, tea, body butter, a cute mug, and best of all- a gift certificate for a massage! They went way above and beyond and totally spoiled me. I am so thankful to have such fantastic friends.

While I was off at breakfast, Dylan and his parents took Gavin on a bike ride. We spent a ton of time out on the patio later in the day because the weather was so great and then grilled steaks for dinner. It was awesome having the Millers in town...I was able to take some off-duty time to work on school work or do things around the house while Gavin stayed occupied and had fun with his grandparents and Dylan. Besides making sure Gavin was fed and sleeping at the appropriate times, I didn't do much in the way of taking care of this house or entertaining the toddler. Kind of the opposite of most weekends around here, and it was pretty awesome.

The Millers left this morning, but not before Dylan, Gavin and Tom fit in a rhino ride. By the time we had closed out the weekend, Tom had helped hang a chandelier, fixed our faucet and figured out a way to move a refrigerator inside to replace the old, junky one in our laundry room. It had been sitting in our garage for months after it was donated to us because we couldn't get it through the laundry room door. Nothing quite like a father-in-law who is also an expert electrician, plumber, and appliance mover.

I am feeling grateful for a weekend with family and lots of celebrating. Gavin was happy to see his grandparents, and we are so glad they make the effort and the long trip to see him pretty frequently. I've been a big homebody today, but we've got some fun plans for the week and weekend ahead. How did Halloween sneak up on us so quickly?
