I remember being pregnant with Gavin and diligently setting up my camera on its tripod every week or so to record the progress of my bump growth. The second time around, this kind of thing hasn't really happened. The growth of the bump is still amazing but a little less enchanting. This, I believe, is for three important reasons: 1) You've been there, done that, 2) You already have a little kid, so you're too distracted for this kind of thing and 3) You vividly remember what it takes to get rid of all those extra LBS when the process is all said and done...and it doesn't involve the finer things in life, like pizza and ice cream.
Anyway, luckily my mom is a little more on top of things and has made me stop, smile and turn sideways a couple of times over the last few weeks. So, here you have it. I think I'll be glad to have documented at least a couple bump shots when I look back at this.

#35weeks |
By this time next week, they're telling me I'm supposed to start packing a hospital bag, installing a car seat, picking out a pediatrician and writing a birth plan. Which means I should also probably prepare a place for the baby to sleep and wash some blankets and burp cloths. In reality, I'd prefer to spend the time decorating for Christmas and wrapping up my final project for my interior design class, but I'm sure I'll be able to fit it all in somehow. I always do.
Anyway, today we fueled up for the hour-long drive to the Wildlife World Zoo. I've been wanting to check that place out for a very long time, but I've always been afraid of the distance. Dylan talked me into it today, and since we found a Groupon for us and Gavin is still free of charge, we thought now would be the time to do it. It might be one of Gavin's last hurrahs with both of us before he has to share our attention anyway. It was totally worth it. The WWZ is not as neatly manicured as the Phoenix Zoo, but maybe a little bit neater with a wider variety of animals in more natural-like habitats. Gavin saw plenty of monkeys and reptiles (his favs) and rode a train. I ran out of steam after a few hours on my feet, so we checked out the West Valley scene to hit up a Five Guys on the way home.

We are happy to have Dylan on the home front this weekend. We were waiting and waiting for the call to come that he'd gotten a trip since it's such a busy travel time, but the call never came. He'll be back in the sky starting Monday, but we had him all day today, and then tomorrow he'll get to enjoy some golden buffalo wings, beer and football at Zipp's with his buddies. He totally deserves such a day. I'm looking forward to the Thanksgiving week. Hope it's been a great weekend for you so far!
