We made our maiden voyage in the new toy hauler. I'm still trying to think of the best name for our little home away from home, so if you have any ideas please pass them along. Our journey was to Prescott, and we departed late on Thursday after D was done working. There, we met up with my brother's family, as well as Shawn and Luke and the Murphys. Luckily Kirk got up there early and reserved us all a space fairly close to one another.
The trailer proved to be very comfortable. Somehow we didn't forget any crucial food items or anything else and managed to stay well fed and somewhat well-rested. We were so well-fed, in fact, that I have a stomachache that should stick around for a few days. That's what four days in a row of eating red meat will do to you. Not that I'm against red meat...I'm just against having
that much of it. We had a little hang-up with the heater being broken on the first night, but we recovered nicely and it was all systems go after that.

Gavin had a great time with the new wagon, but I was so not okay with him about to launch down this hill in it. |

My huge 2-year-old chose to dominate the tiny crib, which left G2 sleeping like a king in the master bed. |

Can we have a discussion about his eyebrows? Dylan thinks it's the Italian in him. I think they're Dylan's eyebrows. |

Gavin and Luke rode about 50 cumulative miles on their strider bikes and spent the rest of the time playing with dump trucks and being covered in dirt. Gavin was thrilled to be camping with "family and cousins and friends," as he put it. We went to the lake a couple of times, and Dylan and Gavin took a ride on Shawn's kayak. G2 and I took a stroll around the lake, which ended up taking about three times longer than expected, but it was nice all the same. I had a mini mountain bike adventure, and other than that, we just relaxed and hung out with our friends. Four or five of our Prescott local family-friends came to visit the camp area over the course of the time we were there, which only added to the good times.
I'd have to say that our first trip was a huge success. I already want to go back out, but unfortunately it requires a ton of work to go camping, and people around here have to work at actual jobs, as adults tend to do, so it won't be an every weekend sort of thing. I already have a weekend next month picked out for our next grand adventure, though!
