Make Room for Another Family Member

The boys and I took a field trip to the zoo today to meet up with some friends from Babymoon that we hadn't seen in a long time. I was the only one there with two kids on my hands, so I was a little distracted, and it was not as easy to get caught up with my friends as I would have liked. But, it was nice to have the company anyway! We were with mostly moms and little babies, but we did have one other toddler there, and together Gavin and Gianna ran the show. Graham was amazing and was perfectly content to ride in the stroller the entire time, as long as I threw plenty of snacks his direction.

Look at these girls, out and about, wearing their little babies like total champs. I'll opt for the stroller, thanks! Graham was like 10 feet away chilling in the stroller, so he didn't make it into the photo. #secondbabyproblems
Happy to go along for the ride.

Just enjoying a snack in the supine position. Totally normal. #chokinghazard

Did I mention that he's the most good-natured human being I've ever known? (Most of the time.)

The weather was perfect for such a meet-up, and hopefully we will do it again soon. The highlight of the day, however, was what came next. It was supposed to be a simple trip to pick up some groceries, but we ended up adopting a new family member.

When I saw this giant BB-8 for cheap at Costco, I knew I had to add him to the front seat of the shopping cart. We don't ever buy toys on regular errand runs, but I had to make an exception. BTW, what is it with the two kids loaded up in the cart together? It melts the heart of every old woman in a 10-foot radius and sometimes even the hearts of old men. Especially because Graham fires off the most endearing smiles to anybody who glances at him. Even the guys at the checkout had a blast with my two young fellows today. I love it when I'm shopping with Graham and notice strangers smiling in my direction before realizing it's because the sweetest thing is right in front of me, brightening the world. I think he was put on this planet to make the day of all ladies patronizing our typical shopping spots.

Three's a crowd

It's so nice to have company on our ridiculously long car rides!

Sitting all Matt Lauer again. Some day he will host The Today Show. But hopefully not with BB-8 as his co-host.

In case you're wondering, and I'm sure you're not, BB-8 is cozily tucked in next to Gavin in the bottom bunk. Welcome to the family, BB-8 Miller!

Oh, and just because I don't want the photos of our incredible new fire engine to get lost in the mix, here is some evidence of us getting all crafty with an oversized box from Amazon the other day. I was so distraught by their wastefulness, I had to repurpose the box into a fire engine. Gavin thought it was super cool for at least 10 minutes.

Graham didn't really care to ride in the fire engine, but he really quite enjoyed repeatedly ripping the wheels off of it.

Okay, let's bring on the rest of the weekend!
