It was the most normal of weekends, and it's never felt better to be able to say that. I had two (TWO!) solo trips to the gym, we spent every day playing outside, and indulged in some adult beverages and processed carbohydrates. On Saturday, we played outside with our friends and neighbors, the Jordans, and the little guys drove around in their cars. We followed it up with burgers on the grill and s'mores at the outside firepit. On Sunday, we made our way to church for the first time in months. I think I went to maybe three services in all of 2016, plus about four times volunteering in the children's ministry, so we were due to get back in the groove. I always leave there feeling refreshed and with a little better outlook on the world. It only helps us to be better people, so hopefully we can keep this up and continue to go.
Afterward, we made a stop at the park next door before getting back in the car and swinging into the AJs BBQ for lunch. Dylan had taken his bike out with his buddies on Saturday, and then I took a turn on the trails in the afternoon. It was a top notch way to spend a Sunday, for sure.
Dylan produced a movie trailer of Luke and Gavin tearing around the desert.
Roasting marshmallows on a Saturday night!
Gavin made this baby Moses in Sunday School. I've never seen anybody so proud of a picture glued to a coffee filter.
Graham threw up on his shirt after we picked him up at the nursery, so he enjoyed a topless time at the park.
Lunch at AJs
Luckily we found a shirt in the car before lunch.
Today is our last day of our 4-day weekend. Mondays aren't usually full of fun and games...mostly errands and appointments. Today is a check-up for Gavin's eyes, some work at the office for Dylan, exercise in some form, a truckload of groceries...and if we're lucky, a homemade dinner. So far, we are happy with the way that 2017 is shaping up to be.
