Happening Now...

Graham is down for the count. Gavin is singing and splashing in the bathtub due to a situation that ensued when he ran out of toilet paper and hopped off the pot prematurely, creating a really gross mess. Dylan is watching The Masters channel, even though The Masters hasn't begun for the day, and speaking to Ted on speakerphone. And, since Gavin politely asked me to leave him alone in the tub, I am sitting in a chair blogging.

In this time of home improvement, along with Dylan juggling about four jobs, we have not the flexibility or the energy to squeeze in many activities that would be interesting to tell you about on this blog. But, a homebody and introvert at heart, I'm having trouble finding any complaints about the situation. This morning, the boys and I stayed at the gym for a long time so that Dylan could concentrate on painting the garage. It had undergone some extensive drywall repair just a couple weeks ago. Yesterday, he installed the new alarm system that we bought after the old one ran into some trouble during a different home repair. I'll stop now, but you'll see where I'm going with this...the details are oh-so-boring. We have just one loose string to tie up in the form of intensive organizing and decluttering with the help of a professional. And then we'll have this place ready to be photographed and listed! I had been dreading the season of our house being shown, but now I'm almost excited about it because it means we are moving forward. A big, new exciting chapter. (Maybe. The price ticket on our current home is still such a giant range that it's possible that moving might not be in the cards. In which case, I'll have to pretend I'm happy about living 100 miles from any place worth going to, and if I pretend for long enough, I might believe it. But probably not.)

Growing way too quickly

Zooming around the house pre-7am.

This one...up and at 'em  pre-dawn every day with everyone else following suit shortly thereafter.

You know, playing with the horse head again.

Spotting a cousin on a walk and running out to grab a hug.

Buying Hot Wheels at Safeway has become a thing. Yikes.

This one...needier than ever, I've become an expert at doing most things with one hand while 25 lbs of dead weight sits on my opposite hip. But still, he's so full of joy and makes us laugh every day.

We haven't been very social, we haven't tried new things or eaten at any new places, but we are chugging along and doing well. I have a feeling things will pick up. Just like anything else, it seems we go through seasons of being busy, traveling a lot and always being on the go, but right now is definitely not one of those times. With the summer just around the corner, though, I'll probably be telling a different story over the next couple of weeks. Stay with me. But if you don't want to, I could hardly hold it against you.
