Saturday brought us all over the greater Phoenix area. It was a very long and very great day! I kicked off the morning at the gym. With my extra cargo, I'm very limited in the classes I can still take, so I couldn't pass up my regular Saturday morning of looking like a fool at the ballet barre. From there I zoomed to Meredith's house for Anne's sprinkle. It was a small gathering with great breakfast and fun conversation. Hope and Meredith did a great job. My favorite part was the spa bar at the end where we gathered bath salts and other goodies as our party favors. Congratulations to Anne and the Probstfelds on baby Alex due to arrive this September! The good news is that we have a summer full of baby showers, so the girls will be getting together a bunch while the dudes hang with the kids. I've never been a big shower person, but this group knows how to take it easy on the games while upping the food and laughing factors.
From there I sent an alert to Dylan to depart from our house and meet me off the freeway so I could scoop him up and head to Patti's birthday pool party. This is the kind of party where normally I would have been over-served and Dylan would be left to drag my sorry butt home. But my how the tables have turned. He had a great time participating in rambunctious and annoying behavior with the other guys, squirting us with pool toys and performing awesome tricks with the floating gator. After stuffing myself with a cupcake (at the baby shower) then brownies, a cookie, and a cake pop, I cried uncle and we headed home, out of the heat. I didn't keep my promise to stay fully clothed and sit on the sidelines. It was much too hot outside for that. But I'm pretty sure that most people in attendance won't even remember what my balloon-esque body looked like in a bathing suit, so we're all good. We got home at about 7:30 and I was completely beat.
We packed in enough on Saturday to make Sunday a gym, Costco, and house cleaning type of day. We headed into the work week having accomplished the perfect amount of work and play, and I've got a full plate all week. I hope your weekend was splendid!
