Our Thanksgiving

We hosted Thanksgiving this year, and just like Thanksgiving 2010, we fried the turkey. Well, I had no part in it. But the guys took on this task, and it turned out great, though rather crispy on the outside. I spent the greater part of the day trying to get our little gentleman, Gavin, to take a nap. He's so anti-nap. How great would it be if your biggest problem was that you didn't like taking naps (or parties)? But eventually he fell asleep just in time for me to enjoy the fantastic dinner that everyone pulled together to create. Abby's pumpkin pies were my favorite!

Kristin and Jojo were the saviors on this holiday and washed every single dirty dish. That was major. Thanks so much!

On Friday, the Millers hit the park in the morning and followed it up with a visit to Dylan's new airplane. I headed off to a family party afterward and rode home with the Palmers. Dylan stopped by with Gavin but then left early to take our anti-party baby home for his bath and bedtime. I came home to a baby asleep for the night. It was splendid.

And today was the final day with the visiting Millers, so we topped off the visit with a trip to Sushi Brokers. Oh YUM. I miss going there all the time. Gavin was sad to say good-bye to his loving aunts, uncle, cousins, and grandparents. He enjoyed all the love over the last few days so much! From there, Dylan dropped me off to meet Anne and Kristin for pedicures and happy hour. It shaped up to be a mighty fine Saturday.

And now it's time to prepare for the week ahead, and also for the holiday season! I have big plans to get our Christmas tree up tomorrow. I can't believe it will already be December 1st!
