Cutting Loose

This weekend was just what the doctor ordered. We are always happy to lay low, but this time around our Saturday and Sunday were fun-and-friend-filled, and it felt so good. Gavin spent Saturday with Nonna and Papa, while I met up with the DBD crew for fun in the sun in Patti's pool at her annual birthday party. We had plenty to eat and even more to drink. Her parties never, ever disappoint. Something about hanging out with the work crew outside the confines of the pharmacy brings out the most wildly inappropriate and hilarious conversation, which left my soul wholly satisfied. They were, without a doubt, the most interesting cluster of conversations I'd had in a long time. I really love these folks. I hadn't hung out with friends baby-free in quite some time. Oh man, it felt good.

On Sunday, Gavin and I drove home from our sleepover at my parents' house and then got ready and headed to Highlands Church. We'd paid a visit to this church a few years back, but it was Gavin's inaugural visit to the nursery. He "wasn't super sad the whole time," which is similar to the report I usually receive at the gym nursery. Thank goodness for kind and patient daycare providers! I enjoyed the service and loved seeing friends.

We followed it up with lunch at C3 kitchen. Dylan came home from his trip, and since he works about two seconds from the Scottsdale Quarter, he was able to join us for lunch as well. Then he scooped up Gavin and took him home, and Kris, Sarah, and I did a little shopping. My house is a disaster and I did just about nothing at all productive, but I really needed this kind of weekend after a ho-hum start to our June.

Kendall was generous with her hugs...Gavin reciprocated by pulling her hair.

The previous week proved to be low-key, as usual. Nothing too exciting to report, but here's Mr G scrambling around at home in his underwear.

Dad leg-coffee table cage

Family dinner at Lamp Pizzeria. Yum!

On an indoor stroll with the cousins.

Kicking back, buying some groceries.

Cartoons catch his attention for a few minutes.

Watching the dogs in the window.

In health-related news, I'm still being followed closely and receiving many pokes in the arm to follow my HCG level, but I'm feeling fine for the most part. Just a little woozy sometimes. I have another ultrasound this week because the findings from last week were not exactly promising, though I'm pretty sure it's all fine. I think things are progressing as they should be, and I'm hoping to get that hormone level to 0 as soon as possible. I'm very grateful that everything is okay, but I am sure ready to put this behind me!
