The last two days have been magnificent. It's Christmas, Christmas everywhere. I told Dylan that this has been the best Christmas in a very long time...and it's still a week away! It's true what they say- having a little one makes the holiday so much more fun. Gavin, of course, doesn't understand any of it, but he most definitely enjoys the lights, the trees, and going to events with activities, people, and more lights! I'm excited for the trike he's getting for the big day, too.
On Tuesday, I hit the trail on my new ride. It was cold, but not miserably so, and I had the time of my life. My Strava app said that I made personal records or 2nd-best times on every leg of my ride. What a difference the new bike makes! I hope I don't have to let another two weeks go by before I can get back in the saddle.
In the afternoon, we loaded into the Palmers' Sequoia and watched Hudson and Cruz at gymnastics, followed by dinner at Chick-fil-A. Gavin's first time eating fast food...he loved it. Duh. (And gross.) Then, we fit three car seats and five adults into the Sequoia and went to Christmas at the Princess. You pay by the car, not by the person, and we are definitely those kind of people. It did not disappoint. The light display was fantastic! We did the train ride and the carousel but decided to skip the ice skating this year. Gavin was up way past his bedtime but did great nonetheless.

Gavin wasn't exactly on his best behavior for gymnastics.

Love these boys!

The carousel was so awesome, we had to do it twice.

On a stroll with dad.
Dylan made a monstrous Safeway run on Tuesday to get ready for Christmas Eve, and whatever he didn't get there, I picked up at Trader Joe's today. All that's left to buy is the perishables. Oh, and did I mention the huge prime rib that arrived on dry ice from Dylan's boss as a Christmas gift today? Nobody in this family is going hungry this holiday, that much I know.

Rain today! I'll take any excuse to wear my green rubber boots.

Gingerbread houses
It was waffle Wednesday this morning...gingerbread waffles to be exact, and gingerbread house decorating with the Palmers tonight. Gifts are showing up at the doorstep on the daily, and I've caught up on my wrapping thus far. The shopping is done, and the only things left are to watch a few favorite holiday movies, possibly bake some cookies, and indulge in more hot, sweet beverages. We've got a few more festivities on the calendar for the weekend. Can't wait to get Thursday and Friday out of the way!
