And just like that, the end of our trip is coming into sight. I am trying to cram all the things that I thought I'd have all summer to accomplish into this coming week. It's incredible how time gets away from you. Today the adventure was just down to Newport to check out the lighthouse. The views were amazing, and we took the stairs down to the beach to check out the tide pools. They were really cool, but it was kind of sketchy for me to be hauling my camera, purse and son on my person while I navigated slippery rocks, so our exploration did not go very far. Anyway, we saw some cool stuff and not anything less than Gavin would have otherwise appreciated. The trip back up the stairs with all that baggage was interesting, but it was cardio that I definitely needed. With all this chill time and a room stocked with our favorite treats, I have a feeling that I'm excelling in the pregnancy weight gain department. Doh.

| He gives out a lot of hugs, and I always gladly accept. |

| He picked up a new car at Fred Meyer today, which he named "Gavin's race car," and he'll stop at nothing to drive it on any possible surface. |
I hadn't taken out my real camera in months and months until today. I got some neat photos of the lighthouse (though the quality upon import to Blogger is less than ideal), but I was hoping to get a real winning shot of Gavin. Until he becomes old enough to bribe into smiling for the camera, I have a feeling we will not have any nice pictures of him. I took so many, and they are all hilariously awful. He must be the least photogenic person I've ever known. Oh well, I guess we'll have to stick to candid iPhone photos for now. After what was supposed to be a nap but was just a crib party, we headed down to the beach and then had breakfast for dinner to round out the day!
