Gavin and I are managing to keep busy around here lately. He seems to have adopted a nap schedule like a normal baby. But I'll bet you it's only a temporary situation, as he seems to change things up for me every few days. But for now I'll take advantage of every 10 to noon and 2 to 3 to do as I please (and as I don't please...straighten up, do laundry, etc.). The only downfall is that the fabulous 12 hours at night with only waking up once has turned into a meager 7.5 hours with two feedings, equating to 5 broken hours of sleep for this lady for several days in a row. If you know how I am about sleep, you'll know that I am barely surviving. I apologize if my blog seems to be lacking coherence lately... He was doing great up until his 2 month vaccines last week. So maybe vaccines really are a product of the devil, like everyone seems to think. Who knows...
Other than boring baby stuff, we've been having some fun, too. We met up with Jess, Drew, Nora, and Catherine to meet sweet baby Drew last week, and yesterday we took advantage of the beautiful weather and had a picnic at the park with Kris and The Gang. Later on we headed across the street for pumpkin carving with the family, and today we are off to meet our pal Tariq for lunch.

Dad, if you let them give me these shots, I promise to make mom miserable at night every night for a long time. |

Our fall garden harvest. Do you love the teeny tiny tomatoes? |
Our sweet baby boy has recently turned into a much less needy person. I think because he is
finally getting enough to eat. You'd think it would take a genius to figure out to feed your baby more so that he'd be less fussy. Clueless party of one, right here. Or maybe it's just because he's getting a little older and figuring out this whole life outside of the womb thing. So I took him into a grocery store by myself for the first time this week, and he acted the perfect little gentleman. Dylan and I also took him to lunch with Shawn and Elaine, and again, perfect behavior. Yes, at 9 weeks I'm finally starting to be less worried about what people will think if I have a screaming baby in public. Baby steps. (No pun intended.) But so far I've gotten away with keeping the baby out of public places (unless I've had help) and my house has managed to stay full stocked with groceries and all the essentials, so I guess it's all about taking it at your own pace.
We are excited to get Dylan back today after a few days of getting some work done in Chicago. Gavin will join his cousins for trick-or-treating, though he will pass on the candy. My muffin top prefers to keep away all temptation. Oh, and speaking of the muffin top, we are getting back into the gym at the end of the week! My weak knee is not 100%, but good enough to do a few things, and I'm happy to have a place to go and get an hour to myself every day!
