This comes just as we've come back down to planet Earth to live normal-ish lives again. Perfect timing for getting a full night of sleep! I feel like I've been in an alternate universe the last few months, but I started work on Monday, and it went just fine. Gavin had a great day at Dawn's, and no tears were shed by either party at the drop-off. It felt nice to be among my co-worker friends again. But I felt sort of un-interesting. I hope that getting back to work gets me a little more well-rounded. My work friends are not baby people. At all. Everyone else in my life is a baby person. So they should keep things interesting for me, and I will do my best to dig deep and find something non-baby to talk about with them. It's good to be multi-faceted. I'm happy to be among the working crowd again. And I'm oh so happy to see the cutest face in the world when I am done with the day.

In other news, Gavin had his second chiropractic adjustment yesterday. I really think it's helping. It's amazing that a professional back massage can make a baby's tummy feel better, and hence be happier. But really, it works, and everyone is happier for it. I'm trying to figure out a reason to get an adjustment, myself. And combo it with a massage. Because that would be awesome.
We had my "birthday" dinner at my parents' house, where Gavin proved yet again that his 6:00 bath and 7:00 bedtime are non-negotiable, and ain't nobody gonna change that. Whatever little man...just keep sleeping and you can have whatever you want. It was a bummer to rush through dinner and dart out on everyone, but the earlier part of the night went well!
And lastly, Vic the Volvo is back in service yet again! The part came in last week and had been sitting at Volvo of Tempe, about 50 miles away from our house. Our buddy Shawn, who can fix anything, took time out of his day off on Sunday to try and get the car started with a screwdriver, or something, but they couldn't get it started because it wouldn't get out of park. Which meant it couldn't be towed to the dealership, either. So Dylan hired a kid on Task Rabbit for $20 to pick up the part in Tempe and deliver it to me at work in south Scottsdale. A deal if I've ever heard of one. And alas, my rockstar mechanic cousin, Christopher, came to the rescue on Monday night and had Vic running again in less than an hour. It's so easy to take your operational vehicle for granted until it breaks down. Kind of like taking your health for granted until you get the flu. It's so nice to have all of our wheels spinning again!
Happy Hump Day!
Hoory! Glad things are going well. Not abnormal at ALL!!!!! Hope today is a great day at work!
