At it Again

Today we decided to do something for our dogs, who are not really neglected, but who could use just a tad more exercise. So we ventured over to the Chaparral Dog Park, which is not near our house. We have the worst luck with this dog park. It's always CLOSED when we show up. But it worked out okay today, as it was scheduled to open 40 minutes after our arrival. So we all took a walk over to the lake and back and then set the beasts loose to mix it up with their friends. Ramona always sticks close by and doesn't do much. Joe makes sure everybody knows who he is in the first 30 seconds and sometimes tries to bite dogs 20 times his size. He can be a real jerk. It was fun.

Next we stopped in at my favorite quick dining spot and took our burrito bowls to a park in Gainey Ranch, where my mom met up with us to love on Gavin. Dylan took off to pick a cooler full of grapefruit from the trees along Via de Ventura, and we put Gavin in a swing for the first time. Mr Cranky Pants was all smiles as soon as he got some motion in his life. I even took him down the slide! As long as he can move and look around, he is one happy guy. I just wish we could safely attach a Bumbo to the Roomba, and then we could send him on his way to see the sights around the house, and everyone would be happy. But really, it was the cutest thing to see our tiny man in the park swing all smiles and giggles.

A morning snooze before heading out.

We are optimistic about getting some better sleep around here soon. Which will hopefully equate to a more reasonable bedtime for myself, a feeling of being at least moderately rested, and then some balance. Because I miss the balance oh so much. We've got a lot on tap for the rest of the week, including Skybox seats at the Open tomorrow, a bar-b-que with friends, and Superbowl festivities for the weekend. I've really enjoyed sticking close to home these last several months and living a quiet and simple life. I really have. But as springtime approaches, I'm getting more and more ready to get out of hibernation. I know I've said as much before, but this time I'm thinking I'll really get something done about it!
