Last week was fever, cough, and molars. Yep, according to the doctor, Gavin is cutting some molars. He doesn't try to hide his emotions or pain, and so it has been torturous for everyone involved. Sleep arrived in short spurts and left nobody well-rested. We were zombies, and it was awful. Luckily, my parents took Gavin on Thursday while I worked so he could get a lot of rest, and things have been on the upswing ever since. Eventually Dylan came home, I got a nap and a few hours out on my own, including a 16 mile bike ride, and I am no longer left wondering how in the world I let my life come to this. Exercise and fresh air are so healing. But nothing heals better than sleep.
Today finally feels normal again. I'm getting lots of smiles from our favorite guy, he's sleeping again, he was well-behaved at the gym nursery, and my feelings toward the general state of my existence are slowly trending in a more positive direction. I did some yoga to get my mind right, and it really helped, I think. I've only done two classes, but so far I think it's pretty rad. Mostly because I'm pretty terrible at it, and so that keeps me motivated to keep going so that I can build my strength, flexibility, and focus.

Raise your hand if you think it's way too hot out here. |

This boy needs something that's intended to be ridden. Any suggestions? |

Keeper of the yogurt. Shopping remains his favorite activity of all time. |
Other than that, Gavin's been riding in our new cooler, messing with the input knob on the receiver during critical moments of the new broadcast, crawling fast, playing with cars, and putting things in his mouth that do not belong there. We've been swimming and out to dinner with my oldest friend, Steph, and her family. I hit a party with some work friends for a short while on Saturday, and Dylan and I watched the movie Submarine over a bowl of coffee flavored ice cream. It only took two installments to finish the entire film. That, my friends, is life out in the boonies. It turns out, however, after some skewed plans and a little turmoil, that we may be making it out of here for a few days. Hooray for some cooler weather, and fingers crossed that G stays healthy during and after, sleeps well, and travels like a champ. My mental health can handle nothing short of that.
