The city is abuzz with events and activity. This week, all week, for Dylan is like Disneyland. His team is in town to play in the Superbowl, and his other favorite sporting event, the Phoenix Open, is happening too. Dylan's been on ESPN, we've been to the tournament to watch our buddy practice and walk with the PGA Wives charity golf tournatment, and we're checking out some other NFL activities today. Gavin has spent some extra QT with his pals at Dawn's and also joined in on the fun. But I'll gather all my material from this week and make it into one big post a little later. For now, let's switch our focus.
These days I know that life is more about the experiences we have than the material things. But some things really do make life easier or sweeter or somehow just better, and if you can get away with it, why not get your hands on a couple of the things that put a smile on your face?
1. #GIRLBOSS
I've always felt like being an employee is so confining and always just wanted to do something on my own for work. Even if it's just a little something. I don't know if I ever will, but this book is entertaining, hilarious, and hugely motivational. Sofia Amoruso is in her 20's and runs a multi-million dollar company that she started as an eBay store selling vintage clothing. So cool.
2. Kirkland Green Tea Matcha
It's not hugely flavorful, but something about a warm mug of something in the afternoon is always appealing to me, and you can't beat the health benefits of green tea!
3. The Original Chopshop
A few months back, Dylan and I had a date day while G was with my mom. We saw a movie at the Camelview theatre and then hit this restaurant. They had fresh cold-pressed juices and really good food, and I just loved it. Yesterday we had to pick up G and stopped back here on the way, and it was every bit as good! It's about 2 seconds away from my work, but I don't get to stop because I pick up Gavin immediately afterward...and then it's just more trouble than it's worth. But whenever I'm kid-free in Old Town, I"ll be sure to stop back!
4. Trader Joe's Organic Apple Slices
They are so delicious and convenient. They are bathed in some chemical mixture to keep them from turning brown, but it's nothing too crazy as far as I can tell. I'm willing to pay the price for convenient healthy snacking, and all three of us love them.
5. Fabletics
The quality is not Lululemon, but it's far from being junk. They have cute stuff at unbeatable prices, and it's so worth it if you're looking to mix up your workout attire. I've skipped the last two months of the subscription because I'm on a spending cleanse, but I'm sure I'll be back into it soon. It's a fun little set-up with new outfits every month, and I always look forward to the first of the month because of Fabletics!
6. Peanut Butter Americano
We bought this the other day at the farmers market, and it's just really, really good.
I think that just about covers it. Above all else, I've enjoyed being outside in the sunshine whether on a bike ride or hanging with G in the backyard or whatever. It's a great time of year to be in Arizona!
