Happy Hearts

We did a little of everything this weekend...some adventures, some relaxing. Saturday was a whirlwind, which kicked off with shenanigans at home. We headed to the gym in the afternoon to catch some footage of Gavin swimming with our new underwater iPhone case. Gavin has turned into a little fish...he LOVES the water. Then G and I zipped on over to the Probstfelds' house for the St. Patrick's Day party, while Dylan zipped on over to Los Angeles for work. Gavin did so well at the party and played nicely by himself or with the other kids the entire time. Usually going to parties is well worth it...but so much work. Gavin is usually needy and on my hip the whole time. If you'll remember, he's not a very tiny person. But this time, he saw a truck and a tractor, and the rest is history. I hardly saw him, except to glance over every 60 seconds or so to make sure he wasn't causing mischief. The Probstfelds have one of every kind of toy that Gavin loves, and at one point he was laughing hysterically on the lawn watching the big kids crawl through tunnels and chase around. It was the best.

He loves to say Biiiiike.

On Sunday, it seemed as though all the activity caught up with Gavin. First, he slept until almost 7:30. I'll never complain about that, but he was coughing violently a few times throughout the night, and I thought we had kicked the cough out a few days ago. Then he ended up taking two naps during the day, which hasn't happened in months. We had had big plans to go for a ride on the green belt, but Dylan found out the day before that he had to fly a charter, so those plans were nixed. I was going to run around with Gavin to get him a long overdue haircut and possibly stop by the gym for some exercise and a swim, but we ended up staying in all day. Gavin was pleasant enough, but I could tell he was having an off-day and was glad we chose to not run around like crazy people for once. We did take a little bike ride around here, and after nap number two, we went on a walk with our dogs. At some point, we always need to get our blood pumping in the fresh air!

We have a whirlwind few weeks ahead of us, and I am glad we got this time to chill. Bring it on, Monday!
