I haven't been at work since last Monday, but that doesn't mean I'm looking forward to it any more than I do on a typical Sunday night. It was a very full weekend indeed. After an all-family hike on Thursday, I hopped aboard a flight to Seattle to spend three glorious nights in a quiet (minus the sirens and city noise) hotel room. I venture to Seattle, and to the very same hotel, for the very same reason just about every year, but it's not too often that I get much down time when I'm there. This time was not much different, but we scrapped group dinner plans on Saturday, so I was able to fit in some wandering in the hot zone.

Gavin took a ride in his buddy Luke's bike set-up on Wednesday. Clothing not necessary, obviously. |

Not thrilled about sharing his car seat. |

Everyone in the family joined on the Marcus Landslide hike on Thursday. |

Gavin quite enjoyed the hike! |

What are these? And, can I eat them? |
Also, I had my first solo Uber experience, and it went well. After purchasing my light rail ticket and making way underground with some of Seattle's sketchiest, I heard an announcement that the light rail would not be coming through my station, and that it had in fact been closed all weekend for construction, unbeknownst to me and basically everyone. Bummer. It was 6am and dark out, I was in a bad section of downtown, and I'd be cutting it close to catch my flight as it was, so I was in no mood to locate the shuttle to the Mt. Baker station to link up with The Link. Happily, I can say that the Uber experience was fantastic.

Dylan sent this to me to assure me that they were having a great time in my absence. |

Again, photographic evidence of D & G having a great time. |

Playing with Grandpa. |
Gavin hung back at home and fit in some quality time with the Miller grandparents, who came to town on Friday. We are so thankful that they could come and help us out this weekend and that Gavin could have this time with them. Dylan was home, too, but in and out because of work. I always enjoy getting away, but boy did I miss those guys of mine!
