Exploring!

The Oregon coast has so many things to see, I fear we won't hit them all before we have to head home. Every day calls for at least one adventure. We don't typically eat tons of junk, but I'm never one to turn down an occasional treat, so we've had our fair share of sugar. We found a little bakery nearby one morning and picked up a muffin and a doughnut and went to Fogarty Creek. It was a cold and misty morning, but we rather enjoyed it!

"Be nice to Clyde" is a favorite sentence for him to say...but not always abide by.

Playing a little ditty on Grandpa's guitar. (I did make him stop standing on the furniture, for the record.)

Doughnuts at Fogarty!

Getting dirty in the creek.

He's really gotten into making weird faces.

Our friends, the Probstfelds, were also visiting the coast, an hour or two north of us in Oceanside. On Thursday, Gavin and I met them half way in Pacific City. We had a chaotic and fun breakfast at Grateful Bread and then headed out to the beach at Cape Kiwanda and hung out until the little ones had had enough pre-nap fun. What a treat it was to meet up with them at the tail end of our week alone!

Watching cartoons and getting comfy.

The guy that always has a flower in one hand and a tractor in the other for the morning walk.

I've been loving my nighttime routine after Gavin goes to bed. Somehow it seems I have so much more time to enjoy myself here than I do at home. I wrap up my chores, fit in a little bit of exercise, and then tune into Newsroom on HBO. I haven't consistently watched a show that I really enjoy in months and months, and I think from now on I will always make the time to unwind like this. And now the family is slowly making their way back, and we have some fun plans in the pipeline for this weekend!
