Soccer

Gavin just finished his third soccer practice, and it went about 20% better than the first two. I can say without a doubt, he's the crankiest and least cooperative kid on the team, but we stick it out the whole time and do what we can. He's surrounded by all girls...I don't know what could be the problem. But, I think it's good for him, and we should see some cooler temps soon, so hopefully it won't set us on the brink of heat stroke. I definitely get my workout hauling Gavin all over the field for 45 minutes. We've got three practices left, and if Dylan could secure a freakin' weekend off at some point, I think he'd have a lot better luck at getting Gavin to participate without crying. He's just better than I am at this kind of thing...he must emit an aura of authority.

My mom joined us yesterday and got some great action footage of our little soccer star. We had fun laughing at how ridiculous it was, so I just had to share it. We're looking forward to seeing CG and Nora back on the field next week!

Seeing these photos makes me glad I've stayed away from the camera as much as possible. I'm not really embracing becoming twice the person (with twice the booty) that I used to be. It makes existing a lot more work. But I am, of course, thankful for the active baby kicking around in there all day long. As far as the rest of the weekend? Well, it's only Saturday morning, but we have a couple of fun things lined up. I was able to get Gavin into the gym nursery yesterday without having a meltdown, so that was a huge relief and gives me high hopes that I might be able to squeeze in another hour at some point. We won't have Dylan in our company until Monday, which is kind of a bummer since he only seems to be at home on the days that Gavin goes to Dawn's house, but hopefully things will be looking up soon!
