Well, things are status quo around here, which is good! The other day, after Dylan hit Costco and Target to cross off the items on the shopping list created by me, he came back home with a big bouquet of flowers...and an Apple Watch! What?? He said I had been doing such a great job with our two crazy kids and deserved it. I'd hardly say that I'm going above and beyond in the motherhood department, but it is a tough job nonetheless, and it always feels good to be recognized. Plus, the Apple Watch is SO cool! What can I say...that Dylan, he sure is one of the good ones. These days, as I sit at breakfast and look at the gaggle of guys around me, I feel so, so happy to have each and every one of them in my life. Even if some days I can't get out of my pajamas until noon (which I absolutely HATE), I'm not well-rested at all and my toddler knows how to push every one of my buttons, my heart is overflowing and I'm so blessed.

No more pictures, Mom! |
So, I've really grown to treasure my Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday stretch. G goes to Dawn's on Tuesday and Thursday, and half the time he goes home with my mom after swim on Wednesday. Tuesday is the day for G2 and me to run around and go to a mom's group, and the other two days, we do as we please. Usually, we don't leave the house, but at least we fit in a walk. Now that I have my fancy watch, I am constantly being reminded to get off my butt and move. That's a good thing! It's getting more and more difficult to feel productive, as G2, like his older brother, is not a big napper. I put him in the Ergo, and then I'm free to use two hands, but it's difficult to do things like shower. Plus, my back hurts after too long with him in that thing. They say no two babies are alike...but I'm beginning to feel like G2 has a lot in common with G. He eats CONSTANTLY and doesn't nap, and if he's awake and not eating, then 85% of the time he's crying. At 1-month-old, he's balding and has baby acne, just like big brother. He's a handful, but I've learned patience in my old age, and it's a-okay. Before I got pregnant, I was so scared to have two high-maintenance babies, but everyone told me that wouldn't happen. This is was what gave me the courage to proceed with making a baby. I'm not completely sure yet that this statement was untrue, as G2 still has some time to let his true temperament unfold, but that just may be the case. Anyway, we're rolling with it and doing just fine.
In other news, I enrolled in one online class at SCC for this semester. I think it should be okay, but I'm a little bit nervous about grabbing a couple of hands-free hours to get my stuff done. The blog may suffer, but I'm sure you're happy to bear with me, right? Also, G had his follow-up appointment at the pediatric ophthalmologist, and it's looking like he's going to need surgery for his wandering eye. The patch didn't work...which is probably because he started taking it off right away and hasn't really worn it in a while. It's nearly impossible to get him to keep it on, and the doctor recommended surgery while he was young to correct the problem before it got any worse. It sounds scary, but it's just a 10 minute procedure, and he assured us that it's a very simple surgery. I'm more worried about G having to go under anesthesia than anything else. So, not super-pleasant news, but we will just do what we have to do!
Once again, I'll allow the pictures to speak for themselves as far as what we've been up to lately. Happy Friday Eve and have a fantastic weekend in the beautiful weather!
