Keeping Cool and Taking It Easy

Howdy. We've been doing our best to keep cool and stay reasonably entertained. What are your tricks for getting your kids to burn off energy when it's hotter than an oven outside? Gavin still requests to go in his sandbox in short spurts, even though he knows nobody will be joining him outside. Even with the inclement weather (on opposite day), he's been a little bundle of joy this week, and I've thoroughly enjoyed his company and that of his baby brother. And his dad, too.

We're in the middle of a condo renovation so that we can hopefully unload that piece of real estate once and for all in the fall. I'll be overjoyed to eliminate it from my portfolio and from my life. Forever. That being said, it's been an okay time picking out paint and floors and counters and cabinets and tile and faucets and backsplashes, etc, etc. That, combined with excessive viewing of Property Brothers at night, has my mind on renovation overload. I have so many ideas for our house; there could never be enough time or money to do it all. But it sure is fun to dream!

Other than that, I've been keeping busy by preparing for our next adventure, getting back into a fitness routine and holding down this fort. In the words of Ree Drummond, "Here's what's happening on the ranch..."

When Dylan is in charge of Graham, he undoubtedly winds up in a sink with a household object as a chew toy. It's happened a few times.

Gavin and I snuck out for a morning of errands with a quick stop at the splash pad.

Graham enjoys getting in on the playroom action.

He fell and hit his cheek on the corner of the table...but was quick to turn around and smile for the camera.

Endless fun with play-doh

Whatever keeps him happy and entertained!

This guy is all smiles as long as he has plenty to eat.

Gavin is turning into the sweetest big brother and loves to include Graham in everything.

Gavin graduated to the next level at swim, but since his (and everyone's) morning began at 4:50 when he peed the bed, he wasn't in a great mood for celebrating. I stayed back with a napping Graham, so I was happy to at least get this one picture!

Life is good, my friends. Happy Friday Eve!
