Gavin had a very long, drawn out birthday this year, but I don't think he minded having it that way at all. First was his birthday party on Saturday. Wednesday was his actual birthday, and so we started with waffles and a couple of gifts. Dylan was out of town, so it was just me singing "Happy Birthday." Gavin felt sorry for me and ended up singing along with me. We went to swim class, where he saw his name on the chalkboard and received a certificate for a snack from the snack bar. Then we headed home, and he helped me bake his cake. Our afternoon festivities involved meeting my mom, Kristin and the boys at Peter Piper for an early dinner and cake. The next day, Gavin brought cookies into school for his birthday treat. Apparently we brought enough cookies to go around his class and then again in his aftercare class. Nothing like picking up a kid on a sugar high! We got Dylan home for just one day on Friday before he had to leave again, and so we presented Gavin with his digger...the final gift and final birthday hurrah. I'm completely birthday-ed out, and I think Gavin is, too. But it was sure an excellent time!
Did you happen to catch the video that Jace and Mikaila made for Gavin? It is incredible. He has two very talented and thoughtful people for his aunt and uncle. What an awesome gift...I'm sure we will be singing The Gavin Tune for years to come. Catch it here if you missed it--->

He didn't mind being put to work on his own birthday cake |

He took an intermission to paint a monster truck...one of his gifts from the morning |

Meanwhile, Graham practiced his yoga |

He went a little heavy on the sprinkles, but it turned out okay! |

The cherry on top of an already wonderful day was finding this new fire engine buggy at Safeway on our way home. |

A cute picture of Graham, just for good measure. |
I'll pick up with the details from the rest of our week next time!
