Throughout the week, we lived out our normal lives in-between birthday stuff. I have a small collection of photos to put up here for the sake of documentation. My memory is failing me...I can't really give an accurate play-by-play. But I'll hit some highlights, caption the photos and call it a night.
I'd say the highlight of the week was reuniting with some old work friends for happy hour at Pig n Pickle. I brought my brood for the first half, and they actually behaved very well for the first 90% of the time we were there. Dylan drove in from training in Tucson and swooped them up from me and then took a turn doing the bedtime routine singlehandedly. It was a great time, but I learned that rose wine may not agree with me. The week before, we had visited the Torrances while Sarah and Aaron were in town from Africa. I put down a glass or two and it wreaked havoc on my sleep and well-being. After a couple glasses of the same flavor at happy hour, I felt completely hungover on Friday. It was pathetic. I don't understand it, but I'll steer clear from now on. #gettingveryold
We gave Gavin this AJ helmet from his favorite TV show, and it stayed on his head for two days. By now, the novelty of it is gone, but it was fun while it lasted. Here's AJ at the birthday party.
Spotted: AJ on the see saw
AJ at Whole Foods
AJ at the hangar

At some point, this happened.
We enjoyed a random cool afternoon outside
Thanks for the stickers, Trader Joe's

Enjoying the new slide
Endless fun with magna tiles
Getting creative on a long day at home
I packed a picnic and we ate dinner at the park after school on Tuesday
Hard at work. At least we are using the garden bed for something.
We fit in a quick trip to the splash pad
Squeezing in fun time with Dad.

Finally, some help with cleaning this place.
My parents are watching the nephews for the weekend, so we met them at the park this afternoon
We were happy to have a break in the weather a couple times this week. It was a little taste of fall, and I loved it. Okay, well my creative juices are just not flowing, and so I'll spare you more uninteresting information and make this the end. Happy Saturday!
