Chapter 1: Friday, and General Catch-up

Friday was so Friday. We were happy to have the week days behind us and for Dylan to be home. He took off early in the morning to take care of business, which included selling the Rhino. I'm the only one happy about it, but it was time. Pretty soon we won't have the space for it, and no matter who you are, nobody needs that much money tied up in something they only use a handful of times each year. Dylan insists that soon we'll buy another Rhino or something similar, except that it should be a 4-seater. He also wants a Tesla, but my motto lately is "dream smaller." So we'll see what happens, as far as owning things with engines (gas or electric) is concerned.

The boys and me just did what we do. Graham kept up his streak of falling asleep in the car, which has lasted for way too long. Homeboy hasn't taken a nap in his crib in over a week. It's not good for anybody. But, now that he's a full-time walker, his vocabulary is also starting to explode, and it's pretty fun.

Gas station donuts 'cause Daddy's home!

After he had plowed through most of the donut he asked us, "When do I get to eat my breakfast?"

Handsome haircut.

Just a really sugar-overloaded day.

I am going to take this opportunity to sprinkle in a few photos that have gotten lost in the mix over the last few weeks because otherwise Chapter 1 of our weekend would be so, so boring. And I think these photos deserve a spot on the blog.

My totally cool FIL sent this screen-shot pic of a recent FaceTime convo. Have you ever seen people happier than these four?

Oh hey, here I am on the other side of the camera. This is from our Easter bike ride.

I read something recently about the reason why moms take so many selfies with their kids. It had to do with the fact that nobody really cares about taking pictures of moms with their kids, and meanwhile moms are capturing every sweet and candid moment of kids with their dads and all the other people. So, there's this totally skewed depiction of kids' lives in pictures that barely includes the mother, and it's just so inaccurate. And then also there was this guy whose mom had passed away, and all he could find was one crappy, blurry photo of he and his mom, and that was just depressing. So yeah, the photo of me on my bike really has nothing to do with any of that, but you won't find me slowing down on the selfies with the boys and me.

I uncovered this gem off of Dylan's phone from camping. The three of them hiding while Dylan hid the treasure. Look at Gavin's puffy hair!

Okay, that's enough. Next chapter!
