On Saturday morning, we took off to Truck Day at Highland's Church. We knew it would be cool, but it was hands down the best thing we've ever taken Gavin to do. Meanwhile, the kid has been to the children's museum a couple times, the zoo a bunch of times, the science museum, the Idea museum, the Heart museum, the aquarium, the butterfly thing, the Lego thing at Arizona Mills, the train park, and even Sea World. He's also been to almost every kid thing there is to do in Oregon. But, the free Truck Day event, located as close to our house as anything could possibly be located, was his most favorite thing, ever. The weather was strangely cool, and it was a perfectly perfect day.

But first, they kicked off the day by watching videos of robots building a Tesla. |
Our first stop at the event was your run-of-the-mill Saturday morning monster truck ride. It was a serious monster truck, and even I was kind of scared. Graham sat on my lap and loved it. Luckily, we got to the event early and hopped right on the truck before the line got terribly long. After that, we visited every type of truck imaginable, as you'll see pictured below.

Gavin said "hello" on the loudspeaker, and I think he found it to be pretty surprising. |
Graham liked some of the trucks, too! |

Somebody pick me up!! |
Luckily Nonna came to check things out and held our tired baby, who was not about to stay put in the stroller. |
Checking out a huge moving truck. |
Little firemen cuties. |
Gavin and Luke on the moon! |
Hot dogs and Cheetos! Does it get any better than that?! |
Don't forget about the petting zoo! |
Keen on removing his footwear, this little gentleman was happy to take a barefoot stroll. |
Oh, and a bunch of turns on the various bounce castles, for good measure. |
The fun didn't end there. In the evening, I dropped the boys off at a park to ride bikes and then picked up food for D and me at the new Poke Spot in Grayhawk. After seeing these poke bowl places popping up, we knew we'd have to give it a try. It was a little spicy, even for us, but so good. I'll be back for sure. Anyway, I brought our food back, unpacked a picnic for the boys, and we ate our dinner on our picnic blanket. They had so much fun on the playground that we kept them up past their bedtimes. It was such a simple and perfect night.
I want to re-live this Saturday every day. But, we have to live the lives of normal, responsible people, so we'll put the fun to the side and take care of business for the next few days.
