I always find myself updating the blog whenever I have the least amount of time for it. But here I am, and I've got a whole lotta nothing to share with you. But here are some of the highlights.
* Today I pulled out of the house and some lights lit up my dashboard and said something...so I turned around and took Dylan's car. I came home this afternoon to a little red car that had been detailed and was also sporting four new shiny rubber boots. Thanks, D! (What's even more impressive is that I put 75,000 miles on the old tires. Grandma driver.)
* I'm especially thankful for car safety and the new tires. Today was one of those days that you hear a tragic story about someone you know distantly, and it just really shakes you. It's a crazy and very fragile life we live, people. Live with intention.
* Last night I had my favorite meal with some of my most favorite people. Chipotle, Jess, and Nora. What a fantastic mix!
* Yesterday I had to chug a bottle of something that tasted like Hawaiian Punch and then get my blood drawn for the gestational diabetes test. I didn't hear anything today, and I'll take that as a good sign. If I'm forbidden from eating cookies and ice cream, there will be a lot of unhappy people in my life, but most especially me.
* I've been swimming for exercise. It's a sight to behold. I am now equipped with goggles, a swim cap, and a one-piece maternity suit. All I can think of is that the people laying out at the adult pool must be marveling at how ridiculous I look, but let me tell you how great it is to do some real good aerobic exercise without all the weight and all the sweat.
* Dylan and I have to miss his yearly family meeting next week in Couer d'Alene. And by family, I mean a gathering of over 300 distantly related cousins. But we've been hard at work this week on our projects for a committee that we're both on, so at least we'll leave our mark. We went to our favorite eatery, Paradise Bakery, for the better part of Tuesday afternoon to use their Wi-Fi and do our work in an undistracted environment. The chocolate chip cookies, my most favorite food in the universe, kept me strongly motivated, and we accomplished a lot!
* I bought a diaper bag because I had a coupon, and I figured that was a good enough excuse to get it now. It's bright yellow. I told Dylan he should pick out a black man bag, but he said he'd be fine with carrying the yellow one. What a guy.
* We have a surprise planned this weekend. I love surprises!
Now I have a 100 things to do to get ready for this surprise and also finish submitting my project work. Make it a great weekend.
