This past weekend Dylan was the Best Man in his friend Brian's wedding in the Los Angeles area. So...we all joined in on the fun. Gavin, my parents, and me drove to California on Friday, and Dylan flew in after work that night and met us there. We enjoyed two nights at Terranea in Rancho Palos Verdes, where the weather was perfect. (Of course it was, it was Southern California.) Sometimes I have some not-so-nice things to say about California in terms of traffic, crowded stores and restaurants, and the price of everything, but the weather cannot be beat, and for that reason alone it's worth taking a trip there every now and then.

Dylan and I got out for the rehearsal dinner and the wedding on Saturday and Sunday nights. It was the first time I've had more than just one glass of wine to drink. Not that I went crazy, but it was fun to cut loose for a while. Dylan had a great time reuniting with Brian, Nick, Nate, and some of the other guys. They golfed, watched the Oregon game, and got into other shenanigans for sure.

It was so nice of my parents to drive out there with us in our very crowded car and to spend so much time watching the baby. I was happy to get out of town for a little while, though I'm not sure if I'd attempt it again while the baby is still this small. There's just something about leaving half way through a wedding reception to go pump that is just not very glamorous. (I never heard very many bad things about pumping, but I think it's about the worst thing ever.) Also, it takes a LOT of planning and a LOT of stuff to go away for a few days with a baby. It's a tremendous effort. Without my parents, we could have never done it, or even come close. Thanks so much mom and dad!

Sandra was a beautiful bride, and the ceremony was possibly one of the nicest I have ever been to. Sandra's friend is a recording artist and sang Have a Little Faith in Me. I'm not much of a crier, but it even brought tears to my eyes. A few years back, it seemed like we were constantly going to weddings, but now it's so much more of a treat. And this one really was. Every detail was perfect and awesome. Congratulations to Brian and Sandra!
