On Saturday, I was out the door early to meet up with Sam and Amanda to take the light rail to Heritage Square for Phoenix Flea. The market was fun and very, very crowded. I bought Gavin and I each a hipster shirt, but the best part of all was visiting Jess and her sister at their booth selling vintage clothes for The Betties. We had hoped for a waffle from the Waffle Truck, but chose to leave the market over waiting in a 3-hour-long waffle line.
It all worked out in the end because we turned the corner and walked into Pizzeria Bianco where we found three open seats at the bar for lunch. No waiting! I have tried to get to this restaurant once or twice over the years, and I know it's also been on Amanda's to-do list, but I've never been able to deal with the 2-hour + wait. So, that was lucky. The pizza was awesome, as expected.
Then, it was back north for me, where I met Dylan and Gavin at The Scottsdale Quarter for pictures with Santa. We did a few errands and hit Tommy Bahama's for a mojito that was recommended by a trusted source. (It was awesome, just like the pizza.) D and G then headed back home, while I went again in the opposite direction to meet up with some extended family at Eli's to wish my cousin, Angel, a happy birthday. I was ready to call it a day somewhere around 7 and finally made it home.

| Still not super-impressed by Santa. |
On Sunday, Gavin and I picked up my mom and went to Jace's 3rd birthday party at the park. The weather was perfect, the pizza and cake were delicious, and the company was delightful. A winning situation overall, except that after spending over an hour in the car, Gavin did not sleep a wink. Finally he did...on the last 10 minutes of our ride home. And he didn't stay asleep when we got home. It made for an interesting afternoon and an early bedtime. Which was good....I had some major catching up to do, as our things were still strewn about our very dusty house, and I needed to create some semblance of order. The good news is that the tile is done in two rooms. One room to go...but it's a beast of a room with a lot of furniture.

Meanwhile, I've been dying to get my Christmas tree up for like two weeks, and after muscling the heavy components together by myself on Sunday afternoon, I searched up and down for the tree skirt to no avail. Also, I can't reach high enough to put the star on top. So, basically, everything in my life is half-finished right now. It's very unsettling to me, but it's also completely okay. As long as I can get it together soon!!
