We are mid-way through our week with Dylan in Somewhere Else, USA. It's 7am, the baby is asleep for at least a few more minutes, and I don't know whether or not Gavin is awake, and I don't care. (My guess is that he's been up for 1-2 hours). I'm not neglectful; he's at my parents' house. It wasn't the original plan, but the previous night's schedule looked like this: Graham awake at 1am, eats and is asleep at 1:40, Gavin screams at 2am, Graham is up 3:30-4:40, Gavin screams at 5, Gavin screams at 5:30, everyone is up for the day at 6am. (Complete disrespect for the "OK to wake!" clock, but Gavin was HUNGRY...growth spurt much?) I may have slept a half hour after Gavin screamed at 2am, but I don't even know. What a blur. Then, we headed out on a 10-hour day, and I don't know if I was safe to drive the 120+ miles that we clocked in my daze, but we are all surviving.
The day was full of highlights to be sure! Errands, lunch with good company at Portillo's, Inn Mommies group, and Peter Piper to celebrate Hudson. The previous day was great, too. We had a total win when I ventured into Trader Joe's with both kids. Maybe not a thing to be celebrated from some people's perspective...but when you have an abnormal paranoia for creating a public scene and two kids who enjoy unpredictable meltdowns, it really is to be considered a win. Even worthy of a parking lot selfie to send to my mom and Dylan. Success.

Thanks for your help with G last night, Mom! Photo taken after Portillo's, where JP was a rockstar with G2, allowing for a peaceful lunch for me.
The remainder of Monday, after TJs, was spent peacefully at home. Bedtime was a little touch and go, but we survived...until 1am, that is. And since we're going in reverse, we had some highs and lows on Sunday, too. Gavin wouldn't nap, then fell asleep in the car on the way to the park in the afternoon. Recipe for disaster, obviously. Luckily, Anne helped me to get my hot mess of a kid to the car after a playground meltdown. But, Dylan made it home in time to spend an hour with Gavin and put him to bed that night before departing on his big trip early Monday. We weren't expecting to see him until much later in the night. #win

We played outside. And played some more outside on Monday

Gavin learned the hard way that sitting in the wheelbarrow is not the best idea

Have you ever seen a sweeter guy? I am figuring him out a little more every day, and he's turning into a delightful little one.

If you want to rewind A LOT, we also hit up the Palmers' campground for the day in Tonto Creek, outside of Payson, on Saturday. It was our one day out of nine with D around, and it was time well spent! Heaven on Earth for little boys, and the adults enjoyed themselves, too. We visited the fish hatchery, the boys had bike races, and we basically just sat around and enjoyed the weather. Thanks for having us, guys!

I'll move in the proper chronological order now. I'd better hit the shower immediately if I want to shower at all. We are off in an hour or so to meet Gavin and my mom at swim for G's first lesson sans parent. I think he'll do great. But he might meltdown. You know him. And the scary part is that he's barely 2 and 1/2, and I hear that scuttlebutt really hits the fan, in terms of attitude and tantrums, when kids turn 3. #yikes
Two more days to go until the patient, stable, loving member of our family that keeps us all sane will be back home!
