The reason I write this? He's on his second long nap of the day, and after talking his raging big brother down from holy terror mode, I got him to sleep, too. It's not that this has never happened, but I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've had both kids asleep at the same time. You better believe I rushed to get chores done, and then after a while I stopped. Because every now and then I deserve to sit my butt down and kick my feet up, even if it is the middle of the afternoon.
We have been busy with all our regular stuff. Today was supposed to be Gavin's surgery for his wandering eye but we ran into an insurance snafu. Actually, it wasn't an insurance snafu at all but the doctor's back office snafu. I had mentioned at his last appointment that we'd have different insurance by the time the surgery date rolled around. They told me it was very important to call them with the new insurance info as soon as we received it, so I set a reminder on my phone and called them ASAP. That was like two months ago. They were so appreciative that I followed through on it, but apparently they didn't update the info. Because they called the old insurance company last week to get the details on payment for the procedure, and they were told that we were no longer active. Then they tried to call me, but my voicemail was full. So they cancelled the surgery. When I called for the deets on Monday, I left a voicemail, which was returned on Tuesday (as in yesterday). It was then that I was informed of the cancellation. I'm still not sure what happens next, but we're just rolling with it. Now that we have a huge gap in our schedule for the week, though, we will try to remain as productive as possible.

It might be time to get Gavin on a real bike.
In other news, we had Graham's 4 month appointment. He took his shots like a champ and is strong and healthy. He's not a real big dude, but I'm okay with that. When Gavin didn't walk until his 16th month, I hoped that the next baby wouldn't be quite so big. I couldn't set G down in public, and he was enormous and completely dead weight. One time, I remember carrying him from the bottom of the stairs at the gym, along with my heavy gym bag and purse, all the way out to the car. I thought I wouldn't survive it. So, if G2 wants to follow in his big brother's footsteps as far as a walking timeline, that's perfectly fine because he'll be much easier to lug all over the place. Other than that, we celebrated my mom's belated birthday on Sunday and Nora's birthday on Monday. It was so fun to get out with a group of girls. It was the first time I'd stayed out late enough for Dylan to have to put the baby to bed. Yes, the first time in over 4 months. That's kind of sad, but I'm just glad it happened. I had a great time, and I can't think of anyone more deserving of a little fiesta for her big 3-5! HBD, Nora!
As for the rest of the week, I have plenty of time with my two little boys penciled into my agenda, so it's anybody's guess how it'll shape up to be. Happy hump day!
