We wrapped up another week with the boys and me at the ranch while Dylan was off at work. I literally can't even remember one thing we did worth mentioning. I just remember that the week made me tired. It wasn't an awful week. The boys were healthy and mostly well-behaved. It just wasn't one of those weeks where everything went smoothly. For example, Graham blew out of his diaper on Thursday morning, necessitating a baby bath, laundry and a trash run. It wasn't a quick recovery, which is not at all ideal when your go time is 6:40. We weren't late, but I didn't look pretty. I had to wear my gym hair, and I was just so beat from the whole week that I had to fight hard to not fall asleep on my keyboard at work. I can think of worse things, of course, but I was definitely happy for Thursday evening to arrive.
The boys were both overjoyed to have their dad home. Gavin had been asking about him all week, and I'm pretty sure he knows as good as any 3-year-old can the concept of grown-ups going to work to make money so that we can have a house and drive a car and eat food and wear clothes. Hopefully, he thinks that's a good enough reason for his dad to be gone during the week. I know that I definitely prefer the current situation over living in a box and hitch hiking. While hungry and naked. I don't know if Gavin totally understands it, but I think he's okay regardless.

We are officially those annoying people...a mom and two kids with two carts between us, taking up all the limited space. |
He loves exploring outside, and his favorite thing is throwing balls. |
Graham needs to ass you a question. |
Gavin is all set to go in his gym shoes. |
It's officially hot enough for water play. |
Graham learned a hard lesson about walking on the hot bricks before I put on his shoes. Poor guy. |

So much happy in this photo of the moment Dylan walked in the door from his trip. |

Breakfast at school |
G and D were off early on Friday for the Father-Child Breakfast at school. After that, they picked up the Millers from the airport. After G2 and I were done running around, we rendezvoused with everyone back at home, and we've mostly stayed here ever since, except for a couple quick trips out. Because poor Gavin has a fever. Today he didn't get out of his pajamas and barely got off the couch. Let's hope that once he kicks this we can spend most of the summer virus-free. We have fun plans for tomorrow, so hopefully he'll be in good shape to get out and enjoy his visit from his grandparents. They came a long way to visit us, and so far we've been unable to show them too much of a good time. It would be good if we could make up for it in the next couple of days!
