Gavin had his appointment at the pediatrician yesterday, and we're pleased to announce that everything looks great! We will keep him on his current regimen for a few more months before seeing how regular formula goes again, but I will happily shell it out for Nutramigen as long as it keeps our boy smiling!
His stats, however, are slipping a tad. He weighed in at 19.7 lbs, which is the 81st percentile, and he's 28.75 inches long. That's the 98th percentile, down from the 99th percentile at his 4-month appointment. Also, his head is really big, but I don't remember the measurement. I'd be okay with his growth slowing a bit, as long as it stays in the healthy range. I'd like to get a little more use out of this next crop of baby clothes, and my back will thank him if the load it bears does not get too much heavier too quickly.
At almost 2-months old, he was all but sleeping through the night. Then he got his vaccines, and his sleep was horrible. After his appointment yesterday, he spent the afternoon with my parents and spiked a fever and was very unhappy. I felt bad for him, and I was nervous for the night ahead. But after 11 hours of sleep, Dylan began to question G's well-being at 6am. I ran to the nursery to find out that he was very much alive. And we've had nothing but smiles all day long.
On the day he turned 6-months old, I decided to have Amateur Hour behind the lens to capture a few cute shots of him. Surprisingly they turned out okay, given that we'd just had a long day at work/day care and it was Gavin's cranky hour. Thanks to Dylan for spotting G, as G is not the most reliable sitter quite yet and I can imagine it'd be quite a tumble off that blue bench!
We've had a couple of really nice family days around here, topped off by a late birthday dinner at my parents' house for Kristin and Dylan. Nothing too exciting to report...but these are the best kinds of days!
