I'm really such a simple person. I look forward to agenda-free days with my two boys more than an exciting outing. Don't get me wrong...I am completely starved for time with friends, and I'm hoping to change that soon, as it looks like we may have Dylan, Father Extraordinare and Gavin's favorite babysitter, around a bit more than normal this month. (Fingers crossed.) But after being out of town and then hitting the job yesterday, I was thrilled to have today to do some chores, a bit of catch-up, and then whatever we want!
On days like these, we often find ourselves at the gym in the middle of the afternoon. It's a nice and quiet time for us because most other people have responsibilities to fulfill at 1pm on a Tuesday other than exercising. Gavin is usually the only baby in the nursery, though today he had a good amount of company, and D and I get a chance to work on our fitness. Then we reconvene on the patio for lunch. The food is awesome.

So we did that. Then, we met Max and the boys down at the river. Gavin was tired and cranky, but something about being outside and watching activity keeps him calm and happy. Plus, my nephews provided free dogsitting services for me, each one running around with one of my dogs on a leash, so I didn't have to keep track of my furry friends. It was the most perfect temperature outside. Everyone was happy. We made it back just in time to get G in the bath and down for the night.

And now it's my favorite time of day...that window between Gavin's bedtime and mine where I can do whatever I want, if I can find the willpower to ignore my to-do list.
