So Chill

As far as weekends go, this one was seriously chill. We kicked it off with a Friday night get-together at the Meabons' house with our pals. It was a perfect night, and the kids had a great time playing in the backyard with all the great toys. Even Gavin was well-behaved, which is saying a lot post-daycare!

On Saturday, we had Dylan's aunt and uncle from Seattle over for lunch. They were in town visiting friends in PV and Desert Mountain, so they hit us up in-between. It was really great to see them and catch up. Dylan grilled kebabs and had a whole spread of good stuff. I love having an excuse to straighten up around here, and we enjoyed a clean-ish house all weekend. Afterward, I squeezed in a bike ride and then fell asleep on the couch watching an HBO show.

Dylan got a last minute trip on Sunday, but he didn't miss anything too major around here. After spending the morning with us, he took off and G and I took the dogs on a walk. In the afternoon, we hit the gym, where I was delighted by the fact that Gavin was rattling the gate to get into the nursery because he was so excited to play. It's been a struggle to leave him there for a very long time, and then I have to worry about him during my workout, which is no fun at all. When I picked him back up, he was playing with a Barbie and a fire truck. An unlikely pair, but I was just thrilled to see him playing nicely!

We hit the pool for a little bit, and we probably took as long getting changed in and out of bathing suits, applying sunscreen, showering off, etc. as we actually spent swimming, but that's OK because Gavin loves the water. While we were in the pool we saw Dylan's plane fly overhead on their approach into Scottsdale, which was perfect timing because G and I were just getting hungry for a cheeseburger. We met Dylan at In 'n Out and have been enjoying a quiet night at home ever since. Hope your weekend was equally as fun-filled and relaxing!
