Mikaila's Bachelorette!

I just returned to the coast from an overnight trip to Portland for Mikaila's bachelorette party. Despite being old and pregnant, I had a really great time! Let the record show that I did not go to bed until almost 1:30am, and I don't know if that has happened at all since before Gavin was born. I'm not saying it was easy for me, but I did it!

The girls were all a lot of fun, and Tess did an awesome job planning a series of fun events to take us through the night. I did not partake in the first portion, which involved exercise, a pole, and dance moves, but I was happy to be the photographer for that portion. Then, we hit the food trucks for dinner before it was off to karaoke until midnight. Being a former karaoke fanatic, I think my college friends would have been disappointed to see me as a bystander while the younger and more energetic girls took the stage, but I had fun watching them. Then, it was back to Tess's house for a sleepover and breakfast in the morning.

Taking the night away from the coast was so fun, and hanging out with a bunch of fun and interesting girls was refreshing. Gavin stayed with G & G and joined them at church this morning. I was grateful they were willing to take on the challenge and give up a portion of their weekend, and I was glad they got this quality time with Gavin before we leave town. Mikaila really enjoyed herself, and I cannot wait to see her next weekend as a gorgeous bride! We have lots of excitement ahead in the coming week. The big day is almost here, and I am so happy I've been in town to be a part of the fun events leading up to the wedding, and I am honored to stand as a bridesmaid.

In other unrelated news, here are the few pictures I scrounged up of our morning yesterday before I left town. Mostly it's just Gavin providing a visual for the definition of "hangry." The bachelorette pictures will probably surface at some point, but not here, and not today!

Oatmeal has been a breakfast staple while we've been in Oregon for this hungry little bear.

Driving trucks through that same old balloon with Grandpa.

Watching Grandpa's R/C car tow his monster truck.

Snacks on our walk to the public beach.

Would sometimes prefer to push the stroller than be pushed in the stroller.

I hope your weekend was fun or relaxing, or better yet- a little bit of both!
