It's been one of those days...one of those really good kind of days. The boys took it easy on me through the night. Gavin, with his random middle of the night screamfests, synced this one with the same time I was feeding Graham, so as not to disrupt my slumber in a separate incident. And that was it. Dylan's alarm went off at 6-something, he took off on a bike ride, and the boys and I had a nice morning. After falling asleep sitting up yesterday while feeding the baby, I decided to throw my mental to-do list in the trash and hit the hay a few minutes earlier than normal. I usually can't stand to do this, but I'm so glad I did it. I finally woke up feeling adequately well-rested for the first time in weeks.
In the intricate art of achieving balance in life, the key for me is getting rest. At this point in my life, it's a tall order, so I try not to be too disappointed if I have to power through the day with little to no fuel in my tank. But I try my best, and the days when I get enough sleep are always the best. And from here I will move on because we were just discussing in the mom's group that somehow not
everyone thinks that baby sleep/baby poop/baby temperament/milk are the most interesting topics ever.
D and G took off after breakfast for the day, one to work and the other to Dawn's. G2 and I had a luxurious home day. We haven't had one like this in quite a while, and it was fantastic! We went on a long walk, blogged (twice!), caught up on my class, did some packing for an adventure and took care of other things around here. A good mix of productive and relaxing. Currently G2 is asleep in the carrier and D and G are on their way home. You'd think I'd have some amazing dinner prepared, but all I've done is thaw some packets of Wholly Guacamole to accompany fajita leftovers. I had a good stretch of preparing hot meals, though, so I don't think anybody will mind. My kind of day, for sure.

I tricked him into thinking my smoothie was a "chocolate drink" and he loves it. Also, we allow bike riding in the house. Doh. |

I have a few shots to share from over the week. We got together with extended family at my cousin's house on Sunday and had a homemade meatball dinner with immediate family another night. We've cheered on Gavin at swim, I've gotten out on a few jogs (yay!), and mostly we've just taken it easy. We like to extend our weekends by at least one day past the norm. Dylan has a lot of work to do, but I have a feeling he'll make plenty of time for us on this upcoming one, too!
