The Early AM

I am a stranger to what it feels like to be alone in this house. Now that we've tricked the baby into sleeping a little later and my body simply won't cooperate to get the sleep that it so deserves, I've found myself creeping into the kitchen in the wee hours of the morning to grab a cup of joe and some quality time on the webs. The next best thing to actually sleeping. Though I'd give my left pinky toe for a new mattress and 8 uninterrupted hours...

I don't have much to share, except that I'm still head over heels in love with mountain biking. Typically I'm as good as dead after work, but last night I was in a foul mood, and exhausted though I was, I took to the trails. It's a little creepy being out there alone in the middle of the desert during the early evening hours. A mountain lion encounter might be one of my biggest fears in life. Also, my bum was so sore from my long ride on Sunday morning that I almost couldn't sit. But somehow I overcame these obstacles and fit in 11 miles before the sun went down. I walked into Gavin getting his bath, and I was just in time to give him his bottle and put him down for bed. I'd say that's a decent way to round out a Monday.

Tuesday is kicking off in decent form as well. I just signed up for an online baby photography class, which I've wanted to do for a very long time but didn't want the added stress of squeezing in a class when I was already feeling like my head was barely above water. And soon I'll be putting on my leggings and heading down to the gym to work my booty in a barre class.

I see a little face looking at me in the monitor. It's time to wrap this up!

This would be the face I speak of.

Finding great humor in spitting out his meal

Globe head!

Good little man hanging out in the kitchen.

Get off my lawn!
With as much fun as everyone had with the above photo on Dylan's Facebook, I'm surprised I didn't hear any smartass comments about the condition of his tank top. He thinks spitting out food is so funny...what are you supposed to do? (Specifically, that is avocado and mango. Delicious, no?)
